labels.

The long list of ingredients calculates
using the two percent rule introduced November 2004. The allergen
information is calculated at the same time. You may also introduce
cooking variables so that the nutrition and QUID information is also
reported correctly.
FEATURE LIST:
Select from thirteen of the most common barcode standards (including
EAN13), the software will automatically calculate the check digit for
you.
Associate pictures and logos to your products, which may then be
printed directly onto your packaging.
Create print queues to print all of the packaging requirements for the
Day/Week.
Automatically calculate and print the correct ‘Use By’/’Sell By’/’Made
On’/’Display Until’ dates.
Create Customers which may have their own pricing structures and use
by criteria, so that when packaging is printed it displays the correct
price and Use By dates – the Customers name may even be printed
directly onto the packaging.
Incorporates a WYSIWYG design tool for creating the layout to be used
when printing.
Allows you to create your own ingredients, edit existing ones and
manage and maintain your records. Ingredients no longer in use or
required may be deleted – but added back at a later date at the touch
of a button.
Creating the long ingredients list for a specific ingredient allows
that list to be used as many times as necessary, without the need to
retype the information.
Simply change an ingredient by performing a search and replace, any
product using the searched for ingredient will automatically have it
replaced with the new ingredient. The software will automatically
recalculate the nutrition values and rebuild the long ingredients list
with the correct information.
Password protection protects the integrity of the data. Users may be
allocated their own password which allows them access to only those
parts of the software they are authorised to use.
Comprehensive reporting utility. Print production reports, price
lists, product specification reports, customer reports, and ingredient
lists.
Automatic creation of batch numbers, which may then be printed onto
the packaging.
Prices may be adjusted globally by either an amount or percentage at
the touch of a button.
Three different prices are held which may be printed - Trade price,
List price and Euro price (the Euro price is calculated from Sterling
using the prevailing exchange rate). Price bands may also be used.
Global messages can be created at the time of print, which then print
on each label/packaging (i.e. Merry Xmas or Happy New Year).
True Type fonts may be used when printing and an English dictionary is
included to prevent any embarrassing spelling mistakes appearing on
your packaging.
EC numbers may be stored and printed for those products where this is
required, together with the necessary roundel.
Associate messages to your products - particularly useful if special
storage instructions or cooking instructions are needed. May also be
used to give warnings - such as “Caution may contain bone”.
Links to separate costing and accounts modules that determine the cost
of manufacture for each product according to the ingredients used.
Will also determine stock requirements to produce a specific number of
products.
Links to other software modules in the suite to provide a
comprehensive turnkey solution. Also has links to other software
packages such as Sage to totally integrate with your existing systems.
HOW DO THESE BENEFIT YOU?
THE LABEL BELOW
WAS CREATED BY “NUTRITION FOOD LABELLING” Version 5.3
The software will
print to any printer that has a Windows printer driver, whether it be
a thermal transfer printer- printing labels on rolls, an A4 printer
such as a colour laser - printing labels on sheets, or a line printer
or print engine on a conveyor belt printing directly to the carton or
boxes.
The data may be
exported to other applications or sent to external printers for
inclusion on pre-printed packaging materials, and is extremely useful
as a means of providing artwork / information for print houses where
the packaging is not produced in house.
You do not need o lay down large quantities of stock
for your packaging materials, overprint your packaging as and when you
require it with the variable information you decide is needed at the
time of print.

What you need to do . . . . .
First create a product.
Then create a build sheet for the product i.e. The
individual ingredients that compose the product as a whole, together
with the weights of those ingredients. (There are over 1200
ingredients for you to choose from included in the software).
What “NUTRITION FOOD LABELLING” will do
for you . . . . .
Calculate the total pack weight and provide the
Nutrition values for the product per 100g and per Pack. The group1
and Group2 values may then be printed directly onto the packaging you
are using.
Create the ‘Long’ list of ingredients automatically in
the correct format i.e. listing the ingredients in order of weight and
calculating the QUID for each ingredient where this declaration is
required.
Automatically determine whether the ingredient is equal
to or less than 2% of the total pack weight and adjusting the listing
accordingly.
Automatically calculate the pack values for over 25
Vitamins and Minerals - allowing you to make claims about your
products i.e. high in Vitamin C.
Produce product specific reports, which may then be
used for in-house records, satisfying trading standards /
Environmental Health Officers and in promoting and selling your
products.
Automatically check the twelve allergenic headings
from the ingredients that are used to ensure that your packaging
correctly identifies the headings that apply to your product.
Provide an in-house solution which is quick and easy to
use, that allows you to calculate the Nutrition, Vitamin, Mineral,
Long Ingredients, QUIDS and Allergen information for your products,
without the need for expensive and time consuming laboratory analysis.
“A
University catering department losing sales to the Student Union,
examined two identical competing products and found that their product
was superior in both content and quality, and considerably cheaper.
The only difference was that the Student Union products were
professionally presented and wrapped with an industry standard
label.”
“A Company catering for a children’s birthday party were delighted
with the ability to put pictures of balloons, toys etc. onto the food
labels together with information that clearly identified the allergen
information of the products, and as a result received orders for other
children’s functions.”
“A large pre-packed food producer in the North of England not only
saved money, but saved on average five hours per day as a result of
using NUTRITION FOOD LABELLING to log and control the product data and
calculate nutrition values, long ingredient declarations and QUID
values.”
“A food producer in Essex using NUTRITION FOOD LABELLING found that
previously closed accounts such as Garages, Supermarkets and Hospitals
were accessible as a result of using NUTRITION FOOD LABELLING.”
“A large Sandwich Company in London used NUTRITION FOOD LABELLING to
link to the accounts and Sales Order Processing modules to provide a
complete management solution. An operator taking an order produces a
chain of events that without any further intervention creates delivery
notes, production lists, Material Requirement Reports, Packing Notes,
and prints labels.
Furthermore, the printer is on the production line and the label is
automatically applied to the sandwich wedge!.”
